kiln
Ceramic studio / fired earth system.
Kiln is a studio journal for ceramicists and glassblowers, built on fired iron near-black with a molten terracotta accent and a warm raw-clay light mode. The hero is the molten-glow preset: a mono-coded firing log card under a glow that pours in from the edge of the frame, as if the kiln door were just out of shot. Fraunces is opsz-tuned so the display reads cast rather than typeset, the opposite end of warm from fizz's candy stickers. Dark by default, materials-honest, and the only brand whose imagery is heat itself.
For the fired, not the fragile. kiln treats a studio practice as a long memory of heat: climb rates, reduction windows, peak holds, the slow descent. The identity is materials-honest: warm iron darks, terracotta light, a serif that has been opsz-tuned to feel cast rather than typeset, and grit overlays that read as ash rather than chrome.
Anatomy
Fictional studio journal for ceramicists, glassblowers, and makers who work at temperature. Dark fired-earth identity built on iron #1C1410 with a molten terracotta accent and a warm clay light mode. The hero is the firing log itself: a mono-coded studio record under a molten glow that pours in from the bottom-right corner like a kiln door cracked open.
Hero composition
A radial molten-terracotta glow pours diagonally from the bottom-right corner of the dark iron canvas (80vw × 70vh radial centered at 88% 100%, plus a tighter 50vw × 40vh radial at 95% 90% for the hot core). A fractal-noise SVG grit overlay sits above the glow at opacity 0.08 with mix-blend-mode soft-light, reading as ash and clay dust rather than digital noise. The hero subject is a mono-typeset firing log strip, a studio record in JetBrains Mono with cone, body, and live timestamp, pinned to the canvas with a heavy 0 40px 80px -20px rgba(0,0,0,0.5) shadow, so the strip feels physical against the glow.

- A journal for the fired, not the fragile.
- A studio log for ceramicists, glassblowers, and anyone whose practice moves through heat. Record firings, track atmospheres, return to a body. Built for the makers who work at temperature.
- Every curve, every hold, every cone. Record the full shape of a firing the way it actually moved. Climb rates, reduction windows, peak holds, the slow descent.
- The record is in the marks. A glaze log that remembers what actually happened. Not the recipe card, the outcome. Ash drifts, crawls, flashes, reduction blushes.
- Fire does not forgive, but it does remember.
- Priced like a good tool, not a streaming service. Own it. Use it for decades.
